After a brave and fearless battle with cancer, on June 22, 2013, at the age of 61, surrounded by the love of his family, Ron went to join his mother in heaven. Son of Don and the late Iva Godkin, husband and partner for over 36 years to Sharon, proudest father of Michael (Allison) and David (Crystal). Always happiest when he was with his grandchildren Cheyenne, Kya, Ashton and Cade. Ron will be greatly missed by his sister Beth (late Stu), sisters-in-law Kerrie and Ann, brothers-in law Brian and Teddy, mother-in-law Kathleen O’Toole, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and many great friends, all who provided love and support during the last 15 months. Special thanks to Drs. Gertler, Kassam, Caudrelier, Ryan and their associated staff. Ron wanted to also thank CCAC, Maycourt Hospice, Bayshore Home Health and Carefor Health & Community Services for their support. Go rest high on that mountain, Ron. The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. and at Bilberry Creek Baptist Church, 480 Charlemagne Dr., Orléans, on Thursday, June 27, 2013 from 10 – 11 a.m. Funeral Service will be held at Bilberry Creek Baptist Church, on Thursday, June 27, 2013 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada or The Hospice at May Court would be appreciated.
